I made it back!

I've been a very busy card make!. I've had 3 birthdays, 2 anniversaries, 1 new baby, 1 wedding, 1 bridal shower, 1 card for the groom's 5 year old little girl who was getting a new mommy. While in the midst of all of this, my daughter's school had an Arts and Craft Fair this past week. I've known for about 5 weeks, but wasn't sure if I was going to be able to have enough stuff made to sell. I ended up having 33 cards plus 2 large frames, 2 small frame ornaments and 4 small wooden/papered ornaments...a lot of work in 10 days! It was a busy October/November.

Back to where my first entry left off, I finished the bridal shower card. The bride-to-be loved it and so did the rest of the guest at the shower. The BTB opened the card and was staring at it then she finally said" Ms. Carolyn made this". She new my handmade cards...nice! The guest asked lots of questions about how I made it. They seemed to really be interested in it. The wedding dress on the front of the card is HER dress. I had a picture of it. So from the picture I hand drew it then hand cut it. The BTB said, "hey that's my dress!" It's cool that it was recognizable. All the folds in the dress are cuts. I think it came out lovely.

The inside of the card was a quote I found.
Couldn't find many quotes/sayings on
bridal shower, but this one was appropriate.

So this was my first bridal shower card I made.
Not to bad if I say so myself ;-)

After the shower card, I had to make 1 anniversary card, 2 birthday cards, a new baby card, and the 2 wedding cards all by mid October.

This is the 8th Anniversary card for my nephew Corey and his wife Monique. I love using the butterfly embosslits die (Beautiful Wings)....I love using butterflies in general. The chocolate, aqua, green and white cardstock is from  K & Company Amy Butler.  The brown gingham is ribbon all the rest is cardstock.

My niece-in-law let me know that they had received it and LOVED it...my nephew text me to tell me too!

The 2 birthday cards were for my niece Caitlyn who was turning 4 and her brother Cameron who was turning 6 six days later both mid October. For the last couple of years they've had a skating party in Sacramento, but since we're in NC we never get to go. So I send them their gifts and wish them Happy Birthday over the phone;-(

For Caitlyn's, I thought the cool lady bug paper I had would make a nice girly card...and she IS girly.

Two different shades of pink cardstock, embossing folder, Sizzix label die, plastic letters/number, and silver brads all were used to create this beautiful card for such a beautiful, wonderful, loving little girl!

Dinosaurs for Cameron! What little boy doesn't like dinosaurs? None that I know. So his card had to be dinos. I found some great 3D stickers that I though at the time would be awesome on a card for a boy...and I was right!

The card is brown cardstock with a textured background using the Stampin' Up texturz plate. I made the tree by cutting a large triangle for the trunk of the tree. I used circle die cuts in different colors and patterns of green for the foliage of the tree. Small slivers of cardstock for the branches of the tree. The clouds and grass are made from cardstock, white and a green respectively. Cam's name and age are green plastic letters for a necklace that I cut the loop off. And of course the dinosaur placed just right to greet a little boy on his birthday!

On the inside I just repeated the steps for the tree. I added "Happy Birthday" made from an embossing folder. The birthday greeting is  stamped.
This sure has taken a while to post, so I'm done for the day. I have lots more and will not make any promises...but will try to post more at least once a week!!!!!

I'm herrrreee......

So I did it...I've got a blog! I saw my friend Toni's (from waaaay back.....Jr High School) blog today. She makes cards and is a scrapbooker (scapper). I loved her blog, I thought it was such a great way to show your art/craft to others. So let me introduce myself.....hello I'm Carolyn and I make cards!
I'll use this blog as a place where I can post the cards and other crafts I make. My first card I'll post will be the bridal shower card I'm working on right now. I'll post it as soon as I'm done (the shower is tomorrow) so just a couple more things to finish up on. Then I'll be ready to show it...so stay tuned;-)
